to inspire you to do you (AND get that coin)

Between you and I (and feel free to judge the f*ck out of me) — once upon a time I used to read gossip magazines and websites. There I said. I stopped reading them as I grew as a human and realised that every horrible, poorly written, nasty sentence I read made me feel like I was losing multiple brain cells. I also felt like the karma coming to me for investing my energy into something so harmful and shallow would be swinging sharply to the negative side. So, now I try to fill my head with positive, inspiring ideas, concepts and news. That’s not to say I’m reading “The Yogi’s Weekly” or am zen AF 24/7, but I do try to make sure that what I’m putting energy into are things that inspire me, serve me and others well and spark thought-provoking conversation and ideas. Which is why I’ve become a big fan of podcasts.

I love that podcasts can be listened to while you get other stuff done; doing housework, working or in the car! I’m a lover of the humble multi-task and this is where podcasts shine. Now you may say well, why would we listen to a podcast when we already have talk back radio. Well, I mean, is it just me or is talk back radio incredibly divisive and not often educational in any way, shape or form? Podcasts can serve as a better alternative if you find yourself wanting a break from music and to hear some healthy discussion.

I love to put people on to things that I love (in hopes that it will spark something in them), so here’s my list of 5 podcasts that you need in your life to inspire you AND help you get that coin. Don’t forget to leave a comment and let me know what podcasts you think we all need in our life!

GIRLBOSS RADIO with Sophia Amoruso

Ok, so the Netflix show may have been absolutely horrid and well, we all know what happened with Nasty Gal, but that doesn’t mean this ultimate girlboss doesn’t have serious gems to drop and knowledge to share. In fact, as failure is a huge part of success, she has experiences and successes that we can all learn from in spades. My personal recommendation is to kick off with the episode featuring Brother Vellies  creative director Aurora James, who is endlessly inspiring especially as, like Sophia, she hasn’t taken the conventional path to success.
